Hello....

I create an application for my PocketPC, with Pocket PowerBuilder 1.0 Build
109 and ASA 8.0.2. My application synchronizes a remote base ASA 8.0.2 with
a consolidated base ASE 12.5. In order to run the synchronization server, I
create I file bat, with as everything works well.

Now I want that the synchronization server runs like service of Windows. I
create the service from SYBASE Central
and in the services of Windows appears, but although I am created so that
starts automatically with Windows, the service does not do it. Whenever
Windows initiates, it is called on to me to initiate the service manually.

That I must do so that the service initiates automatically?

The parameters that the service places when creating are:

-zu+ -v+ -zs oasissfa_ase;StaticCursorLongColBuffLen=10000 -c
dsn=oasissfa_ase;StaticCursorLongColBuffLen=10000 -q -o oasissfa_ase.log

Thanks.....

Miguel Carvajal

Is the service running under the LocalSystem context or your own login?

If you start the service from the Services dialog, or do a NET START <service_name>, is
there any relevant information displayed in the log?

Hello...

Today I am trying to install the service in another machine, where it is
going to be definitively. In this machine, when beginning the
synchronization server, with my file bat, everything works well.

When I create the service and attempt to initiate it from the administrator
of services of Windows, it appears the following error:

"Could not start the Adaptative Server Anywhere - OASISSFA service on local
computer. The service did not return an error. This could be an internal
Windows error or an internal service error. If the problem persists,
contact your system administrator"

and log of the server shows the following information:

Have you completely installed the ASE ODBC driver including the rest of the OpenClient
software and configured the connection information (found in SQL.INI)?
