we run a software by contronic systems called debtmaster on
nt4 server pack 6 operating system server. the server has 2
gig memory and is currently using less than 64k memory
yesterday we downloaded and installed 2 critical updates and
2 security patches from the microsoft website and the sybase
adapaive server anywhere upon opening gives line "failed to
initialize NT performance data area" and overlaying this the
error message "not enough memory"
software manufacturer has no ideas need help

As per Chris's request, please always post the version and BUILD number
of ASA that you are using in each and every post (e.g. use the command
"dbeng8 -v" for ASA 8.x)

I believe the above message occurs when you try to start an engine when
another engine is already running on NT. Do you by chance have more
than one database engine running concurrently?

I am seeing the same error after applying 4 of the latest
critical updates from Microsoft.
v7.0.4.???

I uninstalled one and it fixed it. I will provide the exact
info when I get it but it looks like one of MS critical
updates causes a major issue.
