I have this script in a commandbutton Clicked Event.
The messagebox always returns False/ -1. Also assuming that the Directory
exists containg some files.

--------------------------------------------
u_ddlb l_ddlb
Boolean lb

l_ddlb = Create u_ddlb
If DirectoryExists("C:\Temp\Group") Then
lb = l_ddlb.DirList("C:\Temp\Group\*.*", 0)
Messagebox(string(lb), l_ddlb.TotalItems())
End If
--------------------------------------------

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?
Any help is appreciated.

You cannot use create to instantiate a visual object (dropdown listbox). If
you want to use this technique, you should add an invisible ddlb to the
window and use it in your script. Alternatively, I believe that PFC has
functions to get the contents of a directory (perhaps in the platform
class?) without using another control.

Many thanks, I some how overlooked that. There does exist a similar function
of_dirlist()
n_cst_file...

Does anyone know if it is a known issue that the PrintPage, PrintStart &
PrintEnd events DO NOT fire for an RTF datawindow.

Using PB 8.0.3 Build 9704, Windows 2000, Oracle 9i

Thanks in advance,
Naveen Kaveti

I am running 8.0.4 10501 and created a small sample app and these events were
firing. I searched a few databases and did not find any references to any
issues in 8.0.3 related to these events not firing.

My example just createed a siomple window with a dwc and a rte dataobject. I
added 3 fields from external source and ran the app issuing a dw_1.print()

Can you elaborate a bit on how you are configured?

Thanks for the response Andy.
1. I am using PrintDatawindow() instead of dw_1.Print().
2. The datawindow is actually a rich text datastore.

Some of the other problems I am facing are
1. I GPF when I put the rte datastore in preview mode using
ids_PrintLetter.Modify('datawindow.print.preview=yes')
2. evaluating pagecount using ids_printletter.Describe
("evaluate('pagecount()',1)") gives me different numbers
depending on which printer I select.

I hope you will be able to answer my questions.

Thanks in advance,
Naveen Kaveti
