I am using the Developer version of SQL Anywhere Studio 9.0
and I keep getting "Database Server Connection Limit
Exceeded" exceptions whenever I perform a few operations on
a web page. I am explicitly calling conn.close after each
time that I read data. I tried using Pooling, but it just
kept telling me that the parameter value was illegal when I
tried to add pooling to the conneciton string. What am I
doing wrong?

Others may correct me, but I believe that previous posts indicate that
the Developer Edition defaults to a maximum of 3 connections. If this
is for development purposes, you could try using dblic to bump up your
license count.

Hope this helps,

>The limit is 10 connections, after which I get the error
message. My question is why am I hitting the 10 connection
limit when I am making a call to close the connection each
time? The conn.close call doesn't seem to do anything.

What programming interface/language are you using to talk to the database?

Are you using the personal server (dbeng9) which has a maximum of 10
connections or the network server (dbsrv9) which is only limited by its
licensing?

Can you show us your server startup parameters?
