When I get this message, i can not log on from the other
machines. I have three licenses. I rebuilt the item table,
and had to turn the log off and then back on again to get it
to match, since then I can only logon from the machine that
has the actual database.

What message? Do mean "Duplicate index "Item UNIQUE (itemid)" for table
"Item""? That message is a performance warning message and is reported when
the engine encounters the table Item and identifies a duplicate index. You
can drop the UNIQUE(itemid) constraint or index as it is not needed and can
impair performance due to duplication of index management.

That said, it is very unlikely that it would prevent connections. Check for
other symptoms such as 100% cpu utilization to isolate this issue. It may be
worthwhile to check the database health by validating the database with a
full check if there are no other obvious symptoms. A side effect of a full
validation is that duplicate index warnings will be displayed and can be
captured for future cleanup.
