Hello,
I’m trying to identify a problem where Print preview of the report
occasionally displays grouped detail rows above/below the group they
belong in.
When report is retrieved first time the data appears as expected and
the Print Preview looks fine as well. However, when the new group
(view option) is selected and the report object is changed based on
selected group the data appears as expected in report view but not in
the Print Preview.
The report is designed to display different result sets based on the
group selection (i.e. uses different data objects representing
selected group). The report data rows are copied among the data
objects using RowsCopy() function.
My understanding is that there some kind of page break issue in report
data objects but I’m not sure and therefore I’m interesting in
learning what the problem is and how can this be fixed with out major
design changes.
Any suggestion?
Thank you very much all in advance.

The first thing that pops into my head when I see a grouping problem is
Sort() and GroupCalc()
Any reason not to use ShareData versus copying rows?

I've tried ShareData() but it did not solve this issue.
What do you specifically mean by mentioning Sort() and GroupCalc()?
Thanks

Sort() to make sure the rows are sorted by the same columns as the grouping
(you may also need to use SetSort() if you did not include a sort order in
the DW definition). GroupCalc() to tell PB to recalculate the breaks.
I always do this after changing the filter, it may also be needed when rows
have arrived by RowsCopy versus Retrieve, as most SQL has an ORDER BY
clause.

It was an issue with sort specified in DW. I removed sort before I
preview report in print dialog window and it solved the issue.
Thank you for your input; it led me to the right direction.
