Hi all,
I want to implement a POP3/SMTP functionality in
powerbuilder (Ver 9). I already have a MAPI implementation
but now need a standard POP3/SMTP feature to support
Groupwise/Lotus.

On a search on the google i got some idea about using
winsock.dll. But i found from the discussions (as old as
1996) that it seems to be a difficult task.

Some suggestions centered around the "smtp4w32.dll" which is
used to implement SMTP and some discussions were on the
third party control(Dart/ catalyst). I want to clear the
confusion surrounding this implementation.

Is there any other way to implement this (SMTP/POP3) with
powerbuilder, or else i have to go for a third party
control. Also whether choosing "smtp4w32.dll" is still
relevant (becoz the informatoin i read form the search is
dated back to 1995,99)

Please help me out of this situation

TIA

Kumar

You might want to look at:

Otherwise, I've also had success with IDSMail.

What would be the best course of action using PB8 instead of PBNI and PB9?
