Using Advantage v6.2 with the TableType set to ttAdsCDX, when
I try to open a table named Table1.DBF I get the error 7014
(The first byte in the specified DBF table does not indicate a valid DBF
table.)

The Table1.DBF is a valid DBF table but the first byte is different from
other
.DBF tables from the same directory.

Is there a way I can trick the Advantage table so it can open the .DBF
table.

Use a HEX Editor and change the byte;) There's no way in ADS to bypass
it.
