Here is the puzzle:
When I create a datawindow linking to the tables prefixed with letter "t" in the
sample database, and deploy the one-screen experimental PB8 app using Appeon,
the data shows up in my browser just fine.

When I create a datawindow linking to the tables that are NOT prefixed with
letter "t" in the sample database, and deploy the one-screen experimental PB8
app using Appeon, the data did not show up. There is NO error message either.
Preview Datawindow using Appeon within PB8, the browser launches but no data
retrieved.

Embedded SQL working OK for both type of tables, the one with prefix and the one
without.

Why couldn't the data be retrieved via a datawindow? What did I missed?

I searched the PDF documents but find no clue.

Appeon supports database tables prefixed with letter "t" or not with "t",
and the DW retrieve failure should not be caused by the prefix difference.
If you check the source code of the Appeon Code Examples (ACE) demo or the
Sales Applications demo, you will find that many DWs in the demo links to
tables not prefixed with "t", and the converted DWs can retrieve data no
problem. For example, the DW of the Contact Maintenance Using DataWindow
Buttons example in the ACE demo links to the table named "Contact".

We need more information to investigate what causes the DW retrieve problem:
please go to the %JAGUAR%/html/AppName/meta folder (AppName stands for the
application profile name), find the XML file generated for the problematic
DW (the .xml file name is the same as the DW name), and then send the XML
file to me. You can directly send the file to my email box instead of
posting it in the newsgroup. At the same time, you may try to deploy the
application using the Full Application Deployment mode and see whether the
DW retrieve works.

Thanks,
Julie Jiang

Here is how to reproduce the problem:

1. Open PB8
2. Create new tabular style datawindow by quick sql select and select ALL
columns in the customer table
3. Save the datawindow into a new PBL
4. Create a test window, put the a dw control to that window and assign the new
datawindow object to the control
5. set the sqlca parameters and connect to db in the app open or the window
open event, and cloe the connection during the app close or the window close
event
6. Put a second control - a command button to the window, in the click event
call dw_1.setTransObject(SQLCA) and dw_1.retrieve()
7. Works as exepcetd: all rows in the customer table displays
8 Migrate to web app using appeon
9. Click finsih and run button when done.
10. No rows of the customer table is displayed
11. Modify the datawindow object in PB8 to select only one or two columns in the
sql datasource of the datawindow object
12. Re-deploy the app to web using appeon
13 Customer data shows up

Thank you for the detailed instructions. However, two Appeon engineers
strictly followed the steps but cannot reproduce the problem. They are
using the Customer table in the AppeonSample.db. The test case they made is
the attached Customer.zip.

Please assist us to further tackle the problem:
(1) Has the Customer table been modified or the original table provided in
the AppeonSample.db?

(2) Pls. provide the Appeon version info, OS and IE version info.

(3) Pls. provide the SQL script of the problematic DW.

(4) In the AEM, set the Log mode as Debug, and then re-run the problematic
application. Please send the %JAGUAR%\bin\*.log files to us (you can choose
to directly email the files to me).
