Hi,
I am very new to this SQL anywhere world. Now I got a DB
with me.
Not able to connect to that DB with my own DSN. But it
works fine with the application which is embedded with.
It gives error not a valid user id. Any idea how to login
into this DB?

Thanks ,
Anand

You should contact the folks who provided the application; they may or
may not want you to have direct access to the embedded database.

FWIW the default user id is DBA with password SQL.

In any case is it possible that default USER might be
disabled or not given rights to be used by other users

There are a number of possibilities. The DBA user can be deleted
entirely. The DBA's password is changed. The engine could be an
authenticated engine, allowing only "authenticated" applications to connect.

Again, the right answer is to contact the original application vendor.

Hope this helps,

Without a valid user id and password there is no way to connect to the
database.

Some thoughts (in no particular order):
- does the application give you a mechanism for exporting the data
(unloading). this could generate the schema and data and a manual edit
whould allow you to set passwords to something you know
- go looking for ODBC (or other interface) entries. Sometimes these
contain the user id and passowrd in plain text
- have you tried DBA/SQL?
- have you tried the user id and password you use to login to the
application

Hi,
Well, I tried DBA and SQL. but is throws error saying ???
is not a valid password.

I tried to look for DSN entries. But then it only have
below entries.
AUTOSTOP,DATABASEFILE,DRIVER,START only, Integrated = no.

When I take a look at exisiting DSN entry it does have
only DSN name alone. I guess other entries will be added
dynamically.

There is no options to export data also.

Hoping to find a solution.

Best Regards,
Anand

If the vendor of your software has legitmately gone out of business and no
other vendor has obtained rights to the software (and as such the existing
licenses), you may want to contact technical support. They may be able to
help to reset the password. However, TS cannot assist in accessing any
database that is under license.
