Does anyone know if there is a Utility like dbislc that
works if the database is open or not with the option of DBF
NOT DSN.
If I use the option DBF when a database is opened then it
will not run.

If the database file is running on a server, the file is in use and cannot
be started on another server. I suspect that is the problem you are
experience. To solve that problem, specific the name if the engine and the
dbf. If the engine is already running and has that file running, the
connection will succeed. If the engine is not running, a new engine will
start with the DBF.

Chris Keating,
How can I do that in a command line. In a format similar to
this: dbisqlc -c "UID=BLA;PWD=BLA;DBF=File.db"

Are you trying to setup a DNSLess connection i.e., an odbc connection that
does not use a DSN? If so, use a connection string such as:

Driver={Driver};UID={uid};PWD={pwd};DBF={dbf}

Where driver=the ODBC driver name i.e., Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0

I tried the following and I receive Invalid connection
parameter.
dbisqlc -c "Driver=Adaptive Server Anywhere
7.0;uid=BLA;pwd=BLA;dbf=temp.db" read run_sp.sql

DBISQL does not need to use "Driver=" to connect to a database.
