Hello

I have a Method as Stored Procedure (masp) on the Server. I
have created a datawindow out of it and it is working fine
in the powerbuilder environment. For the appeon I created a
connection cache for the server and it pings properly. Now I
associated the connection cache with the application in AEM
. I have two connections caches for the application. The
other one working fine. But when I run the application after
deploying it with appeon it gives me an error that
"connection to connection cache failed. metadata accessor
information was not found on this server. ". The other
connection cache works fine in the appeon but the connection
cache for the server doesn't.

As I am new in this field I don't know even if I need to
create a connection cache for the MASP. And is it the same
way to use that datawindow made out of MASP.

Can anybody help???

Thanks in advance!!!!
Jyothi

Hi Jyothi,

A simple rule for you to know how to do Transaction Object Settings in AEM:
each Transaction object in the application must be mapped to a connection
cache in AEM. The Transaction object name specified in AEM is the same as
the one in the PowerBuilder application. Besides, please make sure the
database specified for the Transaction object in AEM, the database specified
in the connection cache, and the database that the PB Transaction connects
to, are of the same type.

If the problem still exists, please provide more detailed information (the
database type, the stored procedure) for Appeon engineers to further
investigate.

Julie Jiang

Hello Julie

Thanks for your response.
I have made it sure that the transcation name in the
powerbuilder and in AEM are the same. Also the database
connection in connection cache, transaction object in AEM
and powerbuilder are the same.

I am attaching a file with this email to give a clear
picture about my problem.

Hi Jyothi,

Appeon engineer did not see any possible cause for the error in the description
and screenshots you provided. It seems to us that everything is OK. Therefore,
can you please provide the following information to me (you may just send an
email to me instead of posting it here):
1. Since two databases are involved, please provide at least one table in each
of the databases. (Appeon engineer will try to create DW using the table, so to
reproduce the problem).
2. One of the stored procedures.

We would appreciate your cooperation very much.

Thanks,
Julie Jiang

I tried to access the appeon demo application, specifically, the sales demo.
The login screen has a user name administrator, password blank. I clicked OK
button. It says database connection error.

Hi,

It is strange that such error occurs. We suggest you uninstall and then install
Appeon Server again. If the problem persists, please provide more information
for Appeon engineer to find out the cause:

1) Has you made any changes to AEM, to the settings of appeonsample connection
cache, after installing Appeon?
2) Before the Appeon install, did there already exist an appeonsample.db file in
the %JAGUAR%/bin folder?
3) Please provide to me the appeonsample.db file in the %JAGUAR%/bin folder, the
screenshots with the appeonsample connection cache properties, and the
screenshots with the AppeonSampleforServer ODBC data source properties.

Thanks,
Julie Jiang
