Hi Markus,

Can you please try a full build over your application (that has loaded the ACF framework)? Because during the swapping of the framework, you may have deleted objects in the PFC extension level, you need do code changes in the application till the application works correctly in PowerBuilder.

There are several reasons for the "lots of unsupported features" in the UFA report: (1) Some unsupported properties pre-exist in the PB painter (for example, the ToolBarItemSpace property of Menu), (2) Some functions are supported, but the usage of a parameter in the function is unsupported.

If you still have questions, Appeon engineer would like to get your source code and the UFA report generated, to further investigate how to deal with the unsupported features in the report.

Regards,
Julie Jiang

Dear Julie
I just made a full rebuild on the afc demo application and
deployed it. the ufa report shows lots of unsupported
features.
But this demo application is original (not changed from
us.).
What should I do? Should I uppload some files that you can
check?
Thanks Markus

Hi Markus,

There are two types of unsupported features included in the UFA report:
(1) Features that affect the running of the application, for example, some
key functions that are unsupported.
(2) Features that do not affect the running of the application. For example,
certain properties of a supported object; or client/server debugging
features that are meant to be used in client/server mode and automatically
disabled when running on the Web.

Since the demo application is original, the application shall only contain
type #2 unsupported features. To verify it, please deploy the application
with Appeon and check whether the deployed application can run well.

It will be very helpful if you provide the app source code and the generated
UFA report to me. Appeon engineer can study the features in the report and
give more explanations about why they are there.

Julie Jiang

Dear Julie
Please find attached the report and the whole project. this
'appeon afc demo' project has not been modified by us. we
just have full builded and deployed it on our appeon server.
I'm quite sure that if we use the afc framework and deploy
this project - lots of unsupported features are reported.
Allthough the web application seems to work fine.
But we have to have a clean report otherwise we have to go
through this report every time we deploy and check if
there's a new unsuported feature in this list.
Thanks for going through
Markus

Hi Markus,

Please apply the incremental analysis functionality of Appeon Developer to
get a cleaner report. The steps are:
1) Create an application profile that only includes the ACF core library
2) Perform an application-level analysis over the application
3) Add into the application profile the PBLs that contain user scripts
4) Perform an application-level analysis again

The generated incremental report only contains analysis over the newly-added
PBLs. It locates in the
%APPEON_DEVELOPER%\%APPLICATION_NAME%\Debug\UFA_Modified_Report.xml. (The
"Debug" may be "Release" if the selected mode in the application profile is
Encrypted)

Regards,
Julie Jiang
Appeon Corporation
