Hi,

We use the PFC service for sorting (pfc_n_cst_dwsrv_sort) a grid DW
(clicking on header). As we have several DDDW columns, we turned on
the LookupDisplay service, setting ib_displayvalues = TRUE.

The sort worked correctly, but unfortunately, the performance was
terrible. We went from 3 seconds on a regular sort (using data),(about
5,000 records in a list) to 2-3 minutes.

We're using
PFC from PB6.5.
PB10.5.2 Build 7016.

Any ideas or thoughts?

TIA.
Mick

Are you turning redraw off when sorting?
Anyhow, if you intend to sort large rowsets based on descriptions decoded by
the dddws, you might be better of bringing in descriptions in SQL in a
separate column (and maintaing that column if the use is allowed to change
the underlying code values thru the dddws) and sorting on that column...
