Hi all:

I would like to have a list of servers running on a n/w.
My installation program for a n/w client needs to display a list of
server currently installed on the n/w and dispay it to the user installaing
the application in install shield. I there a way that I can get all the
server names?
We are currently using ASA 7.0.4.3498

Thanks:
DAN

Look in the docs for the dblocate utility.

dblocate utility can be run on command prompt and or by shell, I need to
call this as a object and have me returned a list of servers on n/w.
Just like in Sybase Central 4.0 there is an option to Find servers on the
n/w and once you invoke it, it looks for servers running on the n/w and
displays information in 4 columns "Name", "Address" & "Port".
I need somthing similar to that to integrate in my install shield program.

Thanks,
DAN.

You can write a C program that uses the db_locate_servers function. I
know zero about InstallShield, so I don't know if that's possible, but
the db_locate_servers function and the dblocate utility are about your
only options.
