Hi ,

We're wondering if someone can explain how Appeon deals with nvo's or other
non-visual objects ?
Are they run on the Appeon server as server components, or are they
transformed to javascript and run on the client ?
We're worried about heavy business-logic having to run on the browser.

TIA,

PBS

Appeon supports keeping the heavy business logic with the server.

How Appeon deals with NVOs depends on whether the NVO is a normal NVO object
in the PowerBuilder application or an NVO that is deployed to the server
before the application deployment. If it is a normal NVO object, it will be
transformed to javascript, and loaded to the browser when the NVO object is
called. If it is an NVO that is deployed to the server, it will be kept as
server component, then the business logic will run on the server.

Hope it explains.

Regards,
Julie

Adding to what Julie said, Appeon highly recommends using server-side or
n-tier NVOs whenever possible. In addition to the performance gains, there
are no browser restrictions of unsupported features and you can take
advantage of code re-use.
