Hi,

I need to perform live backups every 3 hours on a couple
databases. I'm trying to figure out how to do this in
Sybase Central. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate
it.

Please always post the version and build number of ASA that you are
using (e.g. use the command "dbeng9 -v" for ASA 9.x)

Consider using a database EVENT to call the BACKUP DATABASE SQL
statement on a given schedule.

You can find relevent information in the documentation.

Hope this helps,

Doing a search in the ASA 8.0.2 online docs for "backup database event"
gives lots of hits, the first one being the following page that has just
the example you are looking for:

Adaptive Server Anywhere SQL Reference Manual
4. SQL Statements
- CREATE EVENT statement

ASA's documentation is a *fantastic* tool and has a wealth of information.

Hope this helps,
