We have an application, build in Delphi using NativeDB Components.

Unfortunately at some customers of us it wont run under Terminal
services'(win2k as wel as win2k3). It gives an Fatal exception on
Kernel32.dll. We are using EBF 4361 but EBF 4372 does not work either.

The application and the database (using dbEng8.exe) are placed on the
Terminal server itselve and accessed from a terminal session (remote
desktop). Are there any specific setting requered to run within a session ?

Based on the snippet from the Dr. Watson log that you posted on your earlier
thread, this problem does not appear to be related to ASA. In that snippet,
the exe listed was delta.exe.

True, delta.exe is our delphi application (based on the NativeDB sybase
components which use your library). But on a standalone system it works. I
have included a file with the connection problems.

Once the delta.exe process went away, the database server detected that
there were no more connections. The database engine/server then does a clean
shutdown after the application has already disappeared. Just as the Dr.
Watson log showed, this output also shows that the delta.exe program is
stopping in an abnormal manner since it does not disconnect properly from
the database server, leaving the server to detect that the process is gone.

Note that this is true for both the shared memory (same machine)
connection:

I. 03/26 13:01:30. Connection ID 1: disconnecting shared memory client,
process id not found
I. 03/26 13:01:30. Connection ID 1: Disconnected SharedMemory client's

.4372;API=DBLIB;TIMEZONEADJUSTMENT=60
I. 03/26 13:01:30. Connection ID 1: "INITUSER" disconnected from database
"r5883"
and the TCPIP connection:

I. 03/26 13:34:04. Connection ID 1: connection "INITUSER" terminated
abnormally; client socket shut down
I. 03/26 13:34:04. Connection ID 1: Disconnected TCPIP client's AppInfo is

Ok,

I thought the warning, process id not found , was the error why it couldnt
be started. We could do some debugging and we now think that liodens
NativeDB is causing the application to stop (when it tries to connect to the
database). They are looking into it now also.
