Hi,

I was wondering if there is any additional documentation
available for Manage Anywhere other than the user guide?
I've been trying to find information regarding error
messages etc. but haven't had any luck on your website.

I've looked at all of the Whitepapers, Technotes etc. and
also have a copy of the training material for Manage
Anywhere but still can't find information regarding several
aspects of the software.

For example, how do I configure self healing for Windows CE
devices?

A list of error messages and why they occur would be useful
to start with. One message I am receiving on my Windows CE
micro agent is "File currently not available" when the agent
attempts to download a package - what could cause this
error?

I have a primary command server sitting behind a router
connected to the internet, communicating with a Windows CE
device over GPRS. I have configured the command server as
per the technote 'Relay rules for NATs and Firewalls', so
I'm hoping that isn't the problem.

Thanks,

Chris Wood

Chris,

- Self-healing is currently not supported on CE devices, however, you could
create a package with a repeating schedule. In this way the package will
repeat a particular action repeatedly.

- This message could appear if the device is trying to download a package
from a Relay Server (RS) where package does not currently reside. In this
instance, it will take some time for the package to be transported from the
Primary Command Server to the Relay Server. The Micro Agent will
continually scan the RS at the interval that's been set and download the
package when it becomes available.

It seems the problem was being caused by the package not
being copied to the 'Active' directory on the server. The
package was being placed in the shared 'Archive' directory
but wasn't (and still isn't) making it to the 'Active'
directory. I've tried this with numerous packages after
restarting servers/agents but still the only solution is to
copy the package manually.

Why wouldn't the package be copied to the 'Active' directory
automatically?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

The package should be copied automatically. I'll follow-up with this issue
from within the case you've already opened.
