I've noticed several other people have posted the same issue I am having but
I don't see any anwsers to the problem. When I try to create a remote view
in vfp 8 I get the Fatal error: Exception code=C0000005.

What a drag, especially when I'm trying to evaluate the product. Seems like
my evaluation is at a dead end here. Can someone help?

Mark,

If nobody on these peer support groups are able to help you, I recommend
you contact your local Advantage technical support provider to get some
help.

hi mark
i get exactly the same error when trying to create remote views. i seem to
remember a post from someone with a quote from microsoft saying that the
odbc driver from ads is faulty or something, and showing some evidence, but
that's where my comprehension ended.
i've now switched to using the ads oledb driver and recordsets which seems
to work fine, and is even a lot quicker than simply using the odbc. whether
you can do this of course depends on if you want to change your code to
handle this new way of extracting data. i'd recommend it if running large
queries as, like i said, performance seems to be excellent.
cheers,
barry
