Hi, I have both PB 8.04 and PB 9 installed on my machine, when I install
Appeon, it automatically installs it into PB 9.

As per the documentation, I'd like it installed into PB8. Any ideas? (other
than uninstalling my PB9?).

Thanks
Carole

Please note that I didn't get the screen to select PB 8 vs PB 9 when
installing the developer, but I did get it while installing the server (on
the same machine).

Hi Carole,

The reason for that the screen to select PB 8 vs PB 9 does not show is,
Appeon Developer installation program judges that PB 8 does not exist on the
machine. Can you please check the following inforamtion:

1) In the registry, whether there exists Location key in the
\\SOFTWARE\\Sybase\\PowerBuilder\\8.0

2) If there exists Location key, whether the directory of Location contains
a file named "pb80.exe".

3) Whether there exists Location key in the \\SOFTWARE\\Sybase\\EA
Studio\\4.0\\Shared.

If there is a 'NO' for any of the above findings, the installation program
cannot find PB 8, so the PB 8 is not provided as an option. In this case,
you may need reinstall PB8.

If all the above findings are successful, please export the registry
information of \sybase and send to me, for Appeon engineer to further
investigate.

Regards,
Julie

Julie,

Thanks for the response. The registry entries ("Location") exist for both
PB8 and EAS.

Also, when I installed the Appeon Server on my machine, it did find PB8
properly.

Hi Carole,

Can you please give the following information to me (you may directly send
to my email address) for Appeon engineer to further study the problem:

1. In the registry, select the export range as
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sybase,and export the registry information of
sybase.

2. In DOS environment, execute the Set command, and copy the information
that displays in a word and send to me.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,
Julie Jiang
