Hello Everyone;

I delayed in replying to my last post, please forgive the repost of the
issue, it is still occuring.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my events not firing, and was advised
to update to 8.0.2.4372 to resolve the problem. While this fixed the events
that were not firing correctly, I now have a new issue. It seems that on
some events, it's now firing them at times that are not on the schedule.
Example: I have an event set to fire every Saturday Morning. It didn't run
on Saturday this week, it ran on Monday. I can find no reason why the event
would run on the wrong day (Yes the time and date are correct for the server
clock). The event is listed below.
It ran on Monday at 3am again.

CREATE EVENT "TuneUp" ENABLE AT ALL
HANDLER
begin
call dbtune()
end
go
COMMENT TO PRESERVE FORMAT ON EVENT "TuneUp" IS
{BEGIN
call dbtune;
END
}
go
ALTER EVENT "TuneUp"
ADD SCHEDULE "TuneUp_1"
START TIME '06:00:00' ON ('Saturday') START DATE '2004/03/30'
go

You could add "-hw ShowSched" to the server command line. This will cause a
line to be displayed on the server console showing when the event is next
scheduled to run. You might also add a statement to the event handler to
output the current time to the server console when the event starts
executing, e.g.
MESSAGE 'TuneUp event starting at ' || current timestamp to console;
Outputting another message when the event completes could also be useful.

When I restarted the server with that option, I got the following line.

-->05/11 15:29:47. Next time for 'TuneUp' is 2004/05/15 06:00:00.000

I already have the procedure TuneUp writing a log showing when it begins and
ends. It shows it running on Mondays at 3 am???

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Billy Willoughby

I think you'll need to monitor what the console log shows on Saturday when
it appears that the event will fire.
