A new tool is available from ROMU Software:

SmartJump

With SmartJump you can open PowerBuilder objects from within
your script painter without the need to swap to the library painter.

Best of all: it's free!

Any comments welcome.

a nice idea but it doesn't seem to work: i get a msg that it's locating the
object but nothing happens..

PB 9.0.1 build 7096,
defined smartJump hotkey = F9 (which is unused in the PB IDE)

how is this supposed to work? maybe i'm expecting too much ;-)
- can it jump to a class based on the instance-classname
eg.:
n_ClassDef inv_myClassInstance
...
// somewhere in the script
inv_myClassInstance.of_getResults()

so if I SmartJump on this last line, it'll jump to & open n_ClassDef ,
right?

Regards,

Ben

Well yes, you expect too much :)

You need to tell SmartJump the full name of the
class (or the datawindow) in order to work. It does
not (yet?) do a lookup for the class of a variable.
Depending on my time i can try to incorporate that
in future releases...

Greetings,

Roland

Make sure that SmartJump is running, and you may have to restart the
PB IDE. It worked fine for me when I tired it, but I didn't change
the hotkey either.

i had restarted PB, and the assigned hotkey was already mapped in my PB IDE,
so i took one which wasn't..
