Hello!

Today I have one database running. My idea is to start working with two
databases, one that handle the current days data and a history database.

I would like to move the data from one db to the other in a batch job at
night. Same time I would like to trim the database file so it will
remove all the empty rows after they have been moved.

Is there any tutorial on how to do it or can anyone recommend a good
book about ASA v9. Or of course any other proposition to solve this
matter is always welcome.

Best Regards
/Andreas

Did you consider the ASA replication technologies to solve your problem (SQL
Remote, MobiLink, Replication Server)?
If not, have a look in the manuals for ASA 9. (Look for "Sybase replication
technologies")

Certainly MobiLink can easily handle this requirement.

Another option is to use the Remote Access components in ASA (ie proxy
tables) to move the data back and forth.

Are they running on the same database engine, or are you starting each
database on separate engines?
