Hello,

I am running a r5.0.11 Domino server and wish to install Pylon
Application Server 5.2.3.

When I launch the setup, after unpacking the files it immediately
displays the following message:

WARNING: Either Notes 5.x or later is not installed or it is installed
using the multi-user option on the server. Please make sure that it's
installed using the single-user option prior to starting the installer!
[OK]

This particular subtlety concerning Domino servers (multi-user vs.
singe-user) is not something I've ever encountered before, and I am at a
loss to understand what it's trying to tell me. I see nothing in
notes.ini that would control this, nor anything in the server document
in names.nsf.

Searching on the web only turned up a reference to someone who fiddled
with a registry key and suffered for it.

Can someone tell me what Pylon means regarding Domino single- and
multi-user options? And that this doesn't mean I have to reinstall Domino...

Thanks,
David

David,

The Notes client can be installed in either single user or multi user
configurations. Pylon Application Server can only be installed with the
Single User configuration. In order to get beyond the error you are
seeing, simply uninstall Notes, and reinstall it in the single user
option.
