I have a damaged database because the ups failed and it was not shut down
right. I get an "Invalid database" error
when I try to connect using sybase central.
If I run the server like this: "D:\Archivos de programa\Sybase\SQL Anywhere
8\win32\dbsrv8.exe" -c 8m -x tcpip "e:\empresa1.db", I get the massage
"Recovery in progress", but I get an error that says "Could not load store
dll dbcis8.dll"

The size of the db file is about 20 megs, but the size of the log file is
1.3 gb.
Using sybase central I tried to translate the log file, It starts working
creating the file empresa1.sql,
but the file grew to large. More than 9 gbs. so I ran out of disk space.
How could that be?

Please help

The database file may not be damaged. Typically, this failure should only
need to perform a self recovery that is represented by "Recovery in
progress" at the startup of the engine. Do you have the file dbcis8.dll
installed? If not, you should make that file available to see if that allows
the recovery to complete.

You should also start managing your transaction log file since a translation
log file of 1.3GB represents significant database activity. The log file is
a binary representation of the database activity and it can be extremely
small relative to the text representation that the translation represents.
For example, your backup call can include a truncation of the transaction
log.

Please make backup copies of the .DB and .LOG files before
proceeding... that protects you from making the situation any *worse*.
