Sybase ASA 8 Database File Modified Date Change?

Does anyone know when the database file modified date changes? Database is
running on a Window 2000 server as a service. User connect usually in the
morning but not necessarily entering any data. Backing up the database file
with dbbackup does not seem to change the modified date. There is no logical
pattern of when or what triggers the modified date changes on the database
file itself. Any thoughts on this?

The timestamp on the database file (and transaction log) will only change
when the ASA engine asks the OS for more space. In your situation, the
database engine is simply re-using the free space that already exists inside
the database file, so the timestamp never changes.

Also, I believe the timestamp on the database file will be updated when the
server is shut down.
