I tried opening a PB 8.01 PBL and received NO error message,
the Datawindow Objects were not even visible in the Open
Library dialog box. Any clues?

Do I need to migrate to PB9 or later beforehand?

Thanks

Do I need to create a runtime version of the PB 8 pbl file
in order to open in DataWindow Designer .Net?

I had similar problems with PB9, the PBL format seems to have changed. If
you export the datawindows, then import them into the Datawindow Designer,
that works. Maybe someone else has a better solution.

The PBLs need to be PB10 format. The conversion to Unicode pretty
much necessitates that. DataWindow Designer will migrate them
automatically for you, so you don't need to export/import.
