I have some datawindows placed in tab controls. When the window is first
displayed, the datawindows on the second and third tabs appear not to be
created. Any code which tries to manipulate these datawindows returns with a
DataWindowNotCreatedException error. If the user clicks on the tabs to
display the empty datawindows before this code runs, the datawindows appear
to then be created and the code subsequently runs fine.

How do you force the datawindows to be created without them being displayed
first?

I've tried the CreateControl() functions as well as trying a similar method
to that used for datastores, but no luck so far.

Many thanks,
Dave

Is this DataWindow.Net in VS.Net, or is this a PowerBuilder question?
If it's a PowerBuilder question, you should post it in one of the
sybase.public.powerbuilder sections.

Try using
dw_1.DataWindowObject = dw_1.DataWindowObject
(replace "dw_1" with the name of your datawindow)
in for example the form load event.

It looks stupid - but it makes the DataWindowCreated event happen. (It
solved the problem for me.)

Best regards
