Am trying to configure a backup as under, and I keep getting
an error message in the live database that there is a syntax
error at backup. The same code, cut and pasted from another
database works without a problem.

Even if I delete the event and check the SYSEVENTS table to
see that it is gone, it still gives an error referencing the
'backup' when I have nothing except for a BEGIN and END
statement.

BEGIN
BACKUP DATABASE
DIRECTORY 'd:\day_backup'
TRANSACTION LOG TRUNCATE
END
