Hi
After locking a table in exclusive mod , LOCK is not getting released
after commit / rollback.
This behaviour is visible while using JConnect5.5 with sybase 9 .

How can we release the lock?

please updame me....

Please show us the LOCK statement you are using, and tell us how you
know the table is still locked.

If you use the WITH HOLD clause the table will remain locked until the
end of the connection.

The statement we are using is

LOCK TABLE table_name IN EXCLUSIVE MODE.

After the connection is closed , the exclusive lock is released but a shared lock on the table persists for the table for some time(we viewed through sybase central version 9). Because of this while we trying to perform our operation for the second time(Above sql statement) it's hangs.

We are using : jConnect (TM) for JDBC(TM)/5.5(Build 25165) with sybase ASA 9.0
