Hi

If I develop an application using DataWindow.NET and it
needs to be installed at 50 desktops, what are my licensing
implications.

There will be only 3 developers using the control during
design time

I cannot find a document clearly stating the licensing
policy for the same.

Thanks
Pavan

DataWindow .NET is licensed per developer seat. You can deploy it with
your .NET applications to as many desktops as you want. What a great
deal!

From Chapter 9 of the Programmers' Guide:

This section lists the files that you need to deploy with DataWindow
.NET applications. At runtime, your application looks for these files
in the directories in the system PATH environment variable. The
DataWindow .NET initialization files and DLLs listed in this section
are all installed in the Sybase\DataWindow .NET 1.0 directory and are
freely redistributable.

This should also be spelled out on a Product Specific License
Agreement that is shipped with the product. References to
'distributable components' are made within the Global License
Agreement that you 'click-through' to install the product.

Unfortunately, I don't have the shipped product box available to me
either, so I can't confirm the wording. There are no licensing fees
for deployment of DataWindow .NET assemblies, but there are some
licensing terms for some of the third-party software used (like
Ghostscript). Those terms are in the DW.NET documentation (release
notes).
