Hi,
VS.2003 VB and PB 10

I aam suing VS.2003 and I have a SYSTEM.WINDOWS.FORMS.FORM with a
Sybase-datawindow.
Everthing is working fine ( retrieve and update )

Now I want make one base-class ( My Base-Class ) ( a form with an empty
datawindow )
and from this form I want inherit new forms.
I have made the datawindow a PUBLIC property.

I can now Access the datawindow-Properties, but it it not fully working
in the development-Enviroment.
I dont see the blue background-Image in the datawindow.

Has anyone experience with inherited forms , that incluse a datawindow ??

I've done a bit of work and while things don't look great in the designer,
they seem to work fine at runtime. As I am learning quickly with Visual
Studio there are issues with 'Visual Inheritence' and things don't work like
in PB. Nonetheless, if you can do without seeing the datawindow dataobject
on your form I haven't seen anything to bad with inheriting... except you
seem to have to set all the modifiers to public all the way down the path if
you want to access the properties directly. I just add some functions to
access the original datawindow properties at runtime.

Another option to do is to inherit the datawindow control directly and
workfrom there. Then you can stick the control on the form later down the
descendent path and access the properties in the designer...
