Hello Newsgroup,

we have installed a Pylon iAnywhere solution in our Office. It works great
with SonyEricsson P900 device with the Pylon Client or with the SyncML.

We also check with SonyEricsson Z600. And here we have a strange Thing.

It works if the calendar is empty or has 1, 2 or a few appointments.
But it crash the Z600 if there is more than 10-15 appointments.

Does somebody also check the compatibility from Pylon with Z600 or have
somebody also see the same thing ?

Regards

Frederic

Frederic:

Can you calrify what you see when the device 'crashes'? Does a specific
error message appear on the device or in the server log? Or, does the
synchronization simply stop?

Have you tried testing this device with more than one user? It would be
great to determine if it is the amount of calendar entries causing the
problem, or if it is indeed a problem with one specific calendar entry for
the user you are testing with.

Please provide some more informatin and try synchronizing with a few otehr
test users to reproduce the behaviour. From there, we may want to
investigate the log file further.

Matt..

Hello Matt,

We tested the synchronisation with 5 different Z600. I'm now testing for one
more week the 6th piece. This one was giving from our mobile operator
Swisscom Mobile.

The 5 first Z600 had surely not all the same release. The last one I'm
trying should have the latest firmware.

The synchronisation crash not every time at the same level of input. The
symptom of the crash of the Z600 is a freezed screen. No possibility to
switch off anymore the phone except to take the battery out.

On the Pylon Admin, under the user acitivity in verbose mode, we can see
that the syncrhonisation will go first in the client changes. Most of time,
the syncml process will block after a while but not the same calendar
entries, not the same time (timeout?). Sometimes, it finish the client
changes and enter in the server changes.

I've tested with 3 differents users, therfor different calendar.

The same calendar entries doesn't make trouble with P900 devices, also in
SyncML mode (not with the pylon client).

I'm using WAP to synchronize the phone. I will try tomorrow if with a cable
over the PC could solve the problem of this "first synchronisation". I'm
sure after the first sync is over, the rest should be fine as we a few
entries, there isn't any problems.

Just as exemple, during this news, I've tryed 2 times to sync the device.
The first time it made 309 entries before blocking and the second time it's
blocking after only 85 entries.

I will try to put 1 day in the performence tab of the user config to see.

What log file should you need, and where are they ?

Thanks for help

Fred

The Cable link for a z600 is not able to connect to the syncml server. GPRS
is used every time.
