Hello,

A few housekeeping questions first. How can I browse the
Solved Cases? I have been able to in the past, but now it
appears you must have a support contract?

Also, how can a newsgroup be searched? I don't see any way
to search before I ask a question that may have been posted
and answered before.

You guys could save yourself a lot of work if these
resources were more readily available. They have been in
the past.

Anyway...on to my question. I have created a pipeline
object that moves data from an Excel spreadsheet to an
Oracle table. Works like a champ in the Database Painter
(Execute) function. Fails when I try to Start it in
PowerScript with a -1 return code. The two transaction
objects are connecting successfully. How do I troubleshoot
this??

Thanks much!

Sue

That is true, you need a support contract now.

Googe groups, especially using the advanced group search to limit it
to the Sybase forums:

http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en&&as_ugroup=sybase.public.*

There is also a somewhat more restricted search capability on the
teamsybase.net site:

http://www.teamsybase.com/ngsform.html

Along with a toolbar you can add to your browser to allow you to do
searches directly from the toolbar:

http://www.teamsybase.com/toolbar.html

(Google has such a toolbar too, but it doesn't allow for restricting
to a particular server).

Also, the Sybase site allows searching of the newsgroups from the
search results page.

Huh? I'm not sure what has changed other than solved cases now
requiring a support contract. That's a Sybase issue, not something
that 'us guys' have control over.

Sadly, no clues in any forum postings.

I am using PB 8.0.3 Build 9704. So, long-story-short, the
culprit was the pipeline user object. After much trial and
error, tracing, and finally removing layers of objects to
isolate the trouble, I found that by creating the pipeline
object using "pipeline" instead of the user object (standard
pipeline object, no code, only a reference to the pipeline
defined in the library), it ROCKS.

Thank you for your reply Bruce,

Sue
