To provide this functionality in RepAgent requires some amount of work and
cannot be done without a case. So, please open a case with Tech Support.

Thanks,
Wanda

Hi Wanda,
Thank you for your helps.I have good news to tell you.
I can set thai620 with ra for Informix work now!
Just place
"-Duser.language=th"
"-Duser.region=th"
"-Dfile.encoding=thai620"
in ra.bat (not MS874).
I can set everthing work on Informix9.2 RC5.
But on Informix9.4 RC2 I found problem ,when I try to
execute "pdb_xlog create" in RepAgent ,The error message
display "syntax error" like this....

1> pdb_xlog create
2> go
Msg 32000, Level 20, State 0:
Server 'infxrep', Procedure 'pdb_xlog create', Line 1:
Command <pdb_xlog> failed - XLog could not be created in
database <toxic>
because: Auto execute failed: A syntax error has occurred.

And please see more information in attached file.

Regards,
zeroman

Excellent work, Zeroman! I'm really glad you were able to figure it out the
Thai language/charset issue.

I don't know why the ri_bld_reptran_ procedure gets created successfully on
Informix 9.2 but not on 9.4.
Be aware that we have not certified RepAgent 12.5 on Informix 9.4. Even if
we can get you past this error, that may not be enough.

I do know that Informix is notoriously poor in providing syntax error info,
so you'll have to execute the script manually in Informix to try to get
better syntax error info (line number, column number).

- before you do anything, be sure to remove any "orphans" (table or
procedures) that are left-over from your xlog create attempts -- I notice
that your bld-reptran procedure name ends with an "_a" which tells me that
you already have a procedure named "ri_bld_reptran_" (with no last letter)
in the database.

- in RepAgent, turn off automatic script execution
ra_config pdb_auto_run_scripts, false

- in RepAgent, run the create xlog command
pdb_xlog create

- in RepAgent, turn on automatic script execution
ra_config pdb_auto-run_scripts, true

- copy the script $SYBASE/rax-12_5/<instance>/scripts/xlog/create.sql to the
machine on which your Informix 9.4 is running or to a machine on which you
have the Informix dbaccess utility available. It would be a good idea to
rename this copy to something like: xlog_create.sql

- attempt 1:
try executing the script as a command file using dbaccess
dbaccess <mydb> xlog_create
and see if Informix provides more detailed syntax error info

if not, then
- attempt 2: (first, be sure to remove any orphans from attempt 1)
open an *interactive* dbaccess session to your database, then manually
execute each command that's in the xlog_create.sql until you hit the syntax
error. This should provide you with the syntax error details.

Once you have the syntax error details, please send them to me.

Thanks,
Wanda

Hi, Zeroman,

In the future, when you have RepServer-related questions, you should post
them to sybase.public.rep-server instead of to this forum.

I sent your question to our internal group and received this answer:

In DirectConnect, set SQLTransformation as 'sybase' rather than
'passthrough'

Thanks,
Wanda

Hi, Zeroman,

One of the RepServer engineers asks the following question:
What does the DSI trace show?
"dsi,dsi_buff_dump" (or maybe "dsi, dsi_dump_buff").

Thanks,
wa

Hi Wanda,

I just to set SQLTransformation as 'sybase' and testing. But
we found new error message detail as below.

I. 2004/10/29 17:38:11. The DSI thread for database
'DCINFX0.testdb2' is started.
E. 2004/10/29 17:38:13. ERROR #5095 DSI(121 DCINFX0.testdb2)
- (1777)
The second and third columns returned by the
rs_get_lastcommit function should have length 72. The one
returned from database 'DCINFX0.testdb2' for column 2 is
144.
I. 2004/10/29 17:38:13. The DSI thread for database
'DCINFX0.testdb2' is shutdown.

And then, we set 'BinaryResults =binary , char' all both
binary and char is same error.

Regards,
Zeroman
