Hello group,
I have succesfully migrated an application using Appeon. While I was using
it I runned into the following problem.

If I use correct user name and password it connects.
If I use invalid username and/or password it connctes again!!!!!!
I thought that it had something to do with the connection cache so I removed
username and password.
I tried to re-connect but even if I provide correct username and password it
does not connect.

Any ideas about what is happening?

I would really appreciate if someone could give me guidance in order to
create a correct connection system.

Regards
Dimitris Karistinos

Hi Dimitris,

Make sure you do not remove the user name and password in the connection cache.
Before the running of an Appeon appliction, it is important to make sure the
connection cache configured for the application can be pinged successfully.
Refer to the Appeon Migration Guide for detailed instructions on creating and
configuring connection caches.

As for the correct&incorrect user names and password issue, Appeon engineer
thinks that it should be some weird behavior of the database. The possible
reason is that the momory that stores the correct username and password is not
refreshed.

If the problem happens quite frequently, please check the logics in the
application, maybe the logics that control the login contain some unsupported
feature that is commented out automatically during Appeon Developer process. Our
suggestion is, perform an unsupported features analysis for the login-related
windows, check in the generated UFA report and look for features that impact the
functionality. If there is any, try to work around the feature using another
way.

Julie Jiang
