Hi Oliver,

The update error should be caused by JDBC driver problem.

Make sure you are using Oracle JDBC driver when setting up the connection cache
(the connection cache that is mapped to the application transaction in AEM):
1. Back up the and class12.jar in EAServer/java/lib and then delete
the two files.
2. Copy the from Oracle 8i to EAServer/java/lib, or, download the
Oracle JDBC driver from the Oracle Web site
( to
3. Follow the connection cache setting instruction in AEM for creating the
connection cache, make sure the cache can be pinged successfully.
4. Map the connection cache to the application transaction object in AEM |
Application Properties | Transaction Object.

For better handling of the case, if you still have the error, please provide the
following information:
1. Environment: PB Version, Appeon Version, EAServer version, IE version,
database version and driver information
2. Error screenshot
3. Logs in EAServer/bin.
4. Test case if possible.
