Hi, Javier,

I assume you're talking about the heterogeneous RepAgent?

If so, even though we haven't certified on Linux, it should work, but you'll
have to do some handcrafting because RepAgent doesn't install on Linux.

- install on another platform but name the $SYBASE directory *exactly* as
you want it on the Linux platform -- if the SYBASE directory name is not
exactly the same on the Linux platform, you'll need to edit the run scripts
in $SYBASE/rax-12_5/bin to use the correct path, *and* you'll need to edit
the $SYBASE/SYBASE{.csh | .sh | .bat} file
- copy the whole tree from your install platform to your Linux machine
- edit the run scripts in $SYBASE/rax-12_5/bin to point to a Linux JRE
that's 1.2.2 or later
- verify the Linux RepAgent "install":
- cd to your SYBASE directory
- source SYBASE.csh
- cd to $SYBASE/rax-12_5/bin
- obtain the RepAgent version
./ra -v

Have fun!
Wanda

Hi, Javier,

I made the assumption that you had already installed a JRE on Linux. If you
haven't yet, then you'll need to do that, too. You can download one from
either Sun
(https://jsecom15k.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=jsecom15k.sun.c
om-19eb%3A4165810b%3A7a68af4885e9d9d4) or IBM
(http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux140/)

Why don't you provide me with the following, so that I can take a look:

- exact path of your Linux SYBASE directory
- exact path of your Linux JRE directory
- the following files:
- $SYBASE/SYBASE.csh (or .sh -- depending on whether you're using
csh or sh)
- $SYBASE/rax-12_5/bin/administrator
- $SYBASE/rax-12_5/bin/ra

Thanks,
Wanda
