I used appeon 2.8 javascript(trial version), PB 9.0.1 build
7171, EAserver 5.0 ,Oracle 10g. I created connection cache
using 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver' server name
'jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.0.89:1521:spars' & database type
oracle9i. My database profile is create using oracle 9i
(oracle 9.0.1) native driver. But when I configure appeon
developer configuration, I have to create odbc dsn for
dbprofiles & configure it.
Pl. tell me its right way.
Because after full deployment, at the time of running
application 'client internal unknown error' occured.
Why this happen ?
IF I used odbc driver for oracle the error should not
occure. But when I used native driver for oracle error
occured.

1. When you create connection cache, make sure you are using native driver or
JDBC driver. Connection cache is used for setting up connection with the
database during the running of the application. Connection cache is configured
in the server. For instructions on how to set up connection cache, please refer
to Appeon Migration Guide.

2. When you configure the DB profile in Appeon Developer, make sure you set up
DB profile that connects to the ODBC data source. The purpose of this setting
is different from the connection cache setting. The DB profile setting is for
Appeon Developer to use the right database driver during the parsing of the
application DataWindow syntax. DB Profile is configured in Appeon Developer.
Therefore, about the settings of DB Profile, please refer to Appeon Developer
User Guide.

Regards,
Julie

I m using oracle10g,PB9.0.1 build 7171,EAServer 5.0,Appeon
2.8 java script. My database is in Oracle10g, but there is
no option in EASErver 5.0 to select oracle10g database. So I
select database type 'Oracle9i', database driver type is
'JDBC'. (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver) & server name is
'jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.0.89:1521:spars'.
Pl. assist me is this right way or not ?
Because when I run application I got error message 'Client
internal unknown error'. Pl. solve it

Didn't you say in your first email that "IF I used odbc driver for oracle the
error should not occure. But when I used native driver for oracle error
occured"? I am confused --- why problematic if there is no error when you use
ODBC driver?

From your description so far, our engineer did not catch any error operation
yet. Any way, the right way is, you need to use ODBC driver for DB profile
settings in Appeon Developer, and use native driver for connection cache
settings in Appeon Server.

Did you find that even if you use ODBC driver, the error also occurs? If so,
please provide the following information for us to troubleshoot:
1) (Make sure the connection cache can ping successfully, and the DB profile in
Appeon Developer can connect successfully) Reproduce the error and give us the
error screenshot
2) The Appeon Developer deployment log
3) The logs in %JAGUAR%\bin\appeonlog. You need to set the log mode in AEM |
Server Properties | Web to debug first, so that the logs are detailed enough.
4) Jaguar.log in %JAGUAR%\bin.

Regards,
Julie
