Has anyone noticed while moving multiple columns in the datawindow designer
performance gets really slow. If I highlight 50+ columns and try to move
them the program pretty much locks up (I waited about 5 minutes with CPU
pegged at 100% before killing the process). When I move around 10 columns it
takes a good 10 - 30 seconds.

I think there is a problem in general when there are many objects on the
designer. The datawindow I am working with has ~
80 fields. It is very slow just moving a single object around (1 - 3
seconds). Basically 1 - 3 seconds for any edit. Select more than 30 objects
at a time. You can go to lunch and still not hae it complete.

Yes I have seen this too and meant to ask engineering about it. Could
you open a case on thise please?

By the way do you see this when you try to move the columns with the
mouse or with the arrow keys? I think it was only a problem when I
tried to use the mouse.

Dave Fish

I have this problem with both mouse and arrow keys. Also, lookng at memory
usage it appears that memory is not getting returned until exiting the
designer. On start of of this paticular DW the designer is grabbing about
290MB. After working with it for about 45 minutes it is up to about 490MB.
