Recently I downoladed Pylon Anywhere Server trial version to test synchronization with our mail system. After the installation of that version I can't find Pylon Anywhere Administration Console from Programs! There's only link to Administrator which opens website for clients to log in, but I can't find any place to configure Pylon Server. Please, help me, as the time I can use this license is very short..

Can you confirm that you downloaded and installed the software for Pylon Anywhere? iAnywhere also offers a product called Pylon Application Server, which has a web-based administration console.

Ensure that you followed the download instructions correctly, and that you did indeed request an evaluation of Pylon Anywhere and not Pylon Application Server.

Best regards,

Matt..

I downloaded and installed the software for Pylon Application Server, but when I'm trying to run the link from Programs> Administrator - it opens the website for clients to log in, but what username and password should I use there to become an administrator?

Please let me know what you are hoping to accomplish with this software so I can find out if you downloaded the appropriate product.

If you are trying to mobilize your email/PIM from Domino or Exchange, you should be downloading Pylon Anywhere.  When you signed up for the eval from that site, you should have clicked the Pylon Anywhere link after you clicked 'Free 30-day trial'. After filling out the subequent form, you should have been sent an email with a license key and download instructions for both the software and documentation.

If you are trying to mobilize Domino Applications, you should be downloading Pylon Application Server.  The steps for doing so are similar to the steps for Pylon Anywhere above, but obviously clicking the Pylon Application Server links.

From the description in your previous post, you appear to have installed Pylon Application Server.  I suggest you read through the documentation for Pylon Application Server (which can also be found at http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/product_manuals/pylon_appserver/index.html)

By default, the userid for the Pylon Application administrator is 'admin', and there is no password.  You can find details like this in the Pylon Application Server Administrator's Guide (http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/product_manuals/pylon_appserver/60/en/pdf/admin_pylon.pdf)

Thank you very much for that explanation!!! Now I understand the idea of different versions of this software. Now I can test both of them with full recognition of their purposes. Thank you again.

Let's forget about previous problems - I found out that setup.exe (and not PylonAppsServer.exe - don't you think it's misleading?) contains Pylon Server which I need. Now I have a new problem - after installation such error has occured:

Unable to connect to the Pylon Anywhere server 'localhost' on port 8788. Ensure that the server has the Pylon Anywhere Web Site running

Where can check and start this web site?

Thanks for the follow-up. Please open a new thread if you run into any issues using Pylon Anywhere, or feel free to post to the Pylon Anywhere Evaluation newsgroup - - - the details of this newsgroup were located in the email that contained your evaluation license key.
