Hi,

I have the following setup: Both my Exchange server and
Pylon server
is on the local network. My web server is in a DMZ. I want
to run just the
gateway services on the DMZ server, and have it relay
communication
to the backend servers.

This is a supported configuration according to the manual,
but I am
unable to find any documentation on how to install it.

Do I just install a normal Pylon server on the DMZ server,
and just
leave out the mail connection? Or is there something else I
have to
do?

Regards

Ulf Thomas Johansen

Ulf:

Attached are two techdocs that outlines how to configure this deployment
option.

You will notice that the configuration involves some manual steps. You may
also want to consider using the reverse proxy server architecture.

Thank you kindly. :)

One more question: I want to give my users the possebility of recieving
alerts, and then having Pylon initiate the syncronization. Now, the carrier
list does not have any Norwegian carriers, so my only solution is to use
email based alerts. This works fine, except for that the carrier I am using
here in Norway has a limit on 100 e-mails recieved pr. month.

Is there any way to solve this, or should I just change carrier? :)

Ulf Thomas

Ulf:

Don;t worry about the carrier dropdown. Having users enter their SMS
address in email form is exactly what you want to do.

To limit the number of SMS messages that are sent, make sure they users
configure their filters to only send alerts on important messages.

To initiate synchronization when an important messages arrives at Exchange,
you will want to use SMS Push. There is a good whitepaper on the Pylon
Anywhere website that talks about how to set up and use SMS Push and Alerts.
