Hi Stelios,

The cause of the error is that ODBC connection, but not JDBC connection cache,
is used for connecting to the database. Please:
1) Set up a JDBC connection cache (The driver type of connection cache should be
JDBC) in the EAServer that hosts Appeon Server and make sure it pings
successfully. For details on how to set up a JDBC connection cache, refer to
chapter 7, EAServer connection cache setup, in Appeon Migration Guide.
2) Set up transaction to JDBC connection cache mapping in AEM or in the script.
For instructions, refer to section 2.7.4, Database configuration for the
application, in Appeon Migration Guide.

You can get Appeon Migration Guide at http://www.appeon.net/support/manuals/.

Regards,
Julie

Hello Julie,
I think Stelios has already created the "Set up
transaction to JDBC connection cache mapping in AEM" cause
in AEM --> only JDBC connection cache is supporting, No ODBC
connection is supporting. So it's clear that he has created
the transaction object with JDBC. So I suppose this error
could be of some other reason.
In Appeon 2.8 (EE edition) at the time of deployment systems
is using the ODBC profile and at the time of running on web,
use JDBC profile. So prob. may be cause of these two
profiles. Why I'm saying this because I'm facing this type
of prob. Am I make sense Julie ? Please assist us….

Hi Niraj/Stelios,

Can you please provide the following information for Appeon engnieer to
further study the problem:

1) The property files of the connection caches configured (you can get the
files from %JAGUAR%\Repository\ConnCache).
2) The screenshots of the DB profile settings for the application (go to
Appeon Developer Configuration | Application Profile | Application Profiles
Properties | DB Profile tab page | ODBC Database Profile Setup).

Yesterday I did not make it very clear, but as required in Appeon Migration
Guide, "Appeon recommends using the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver and
does not recommend using the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver for SQL Server
databases." Please be aware of this recommendation.

Regards,
Julie

Hi Niraj,

The error message discussed in this post is "Failed to execute SQl statement
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL >Server> Driver]Connection is
busy...", it is a Microsoft SQL database message. However, in your attachment,
I found that configuration is related with Oracle 9i. Can you please make it
clear what is the error in your application?

There is no error found in the screenshots and the property file you provided.
If you make sure the DB profile connection and connection cache connection are
both successful, I suggest you just check the database settings in AEM: go to
AEM | Application Properties | Transaction object, and verify the database type
selected for the transaction object and connection cache is "Oracle 9i".

Again, if the error persists, please give the error screenshot. It will be very
strange that you are using Oracle database, but get SQL Server error...

Regards,
Julie

Hi Niraj:

The cause of the error is that several tables are missing in the
application. The tables are: messages, security_apps, security_groupings,
security_template,
security_users. Please export these tables from pfc.db to the application
database.

In PowerBuilder, if the above tables are missing but the services related
with the tables are not used, the application works fine. Appeon Web
application,
however, requires to have all the tables imported to the application
database.

Regards,
Julie
