One on my departments installed a PIX firewall between their office and my
ADS server. Everything works fine (Internet access, DOS programs, ALS apps,
etc.) except for my ADS apps. They get "Unable to discover the Advantage
Database Server" errors. All ports are open on the PIX firewall. ADS in on a
Netware 6.5 server. Any suggestions to correct this problem would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

You're getting the 6420 discovery error. This is the automatic server
discovery process and the firewall is probably blocking ADS discovery
packets (multicast, mailslot, sap). I'd recommend changing your
connection path to use the IP address and port. For instance,
\\127.0.0.1:6262\vol1\sys...

Or, make an entry with the IP in the ADS.INI file support in help file.
