Michael,

If you have less number of characters in the edit mask object than the edit
mask, you should be able to insert data.

For example, if you have a mask of #,###,###.00, and you type '24', you
should be able to go back and "insert" a '3' to form '234'. Once the limit
of the edit mask has been reached, you will no longer be able to insert
characters.

Not sure if I understood your question correctly, so please let me know if
my response didn't address your need.

Thanks,

Sanjiv.

Hello Sanjiv

i have a editmask with MaskDataType=stringmask! and no entry in the
Mask-Property.
if i insert characters in this field - and then i go back with the cursor
and want to insert one or more characters - it overrides always my data in
the editmask-Field.
i don't know why ???

thank you
Michael

I believe the string edit mask works in an overwrite mode. I'll try to look
into that and see if I can get confirmation either way.

Are you sure you have no mask? If I remember right, you can't type in any
text in an edit mask object if you have no mask.

Sanjiv.

Sorry, as far as I am aware you can't change the insert/overwrite mode of an
editmask.
