DataWindow Column Background Mode

I have (dw_1) datawindow with 5 columns and I want to change the background to
transparent.
dw_1.object.columnNAME.background.mode = 1

How can I do this without using the column name? I'm looking for something like:
FOR li_c = 1 to dw_1.object.datawindow.column.count

dw_1.object.column(li_c).background.mode = 1

I am assuming the way you have the syntax written on the
first part that you are not working w/ dw.net but with a
standard dw; therefore, I will try and help as though my
assumptions are true.

use the "describe" to get a value and the "modify" to set a
value

<DW Control Name>.Describe("<Columnname>.Background.Mode")

<DW Control Name>.Modify("<Columnname>.Background.Mode='1'")

You can use #<column index> to represent a column without
specifying an actual name. Use the PB help (F1), it is very
usefull!!

There is also a tool called "DataWindow Syntax" supplied w/
PB that is also very useful.

Hope this helps,
Chris.
