We have a problem with the beta datawindow.net. We have made
an aspx site which inludes one datawindownet (insert and
update functionality is really good and easy).

We have the problem when we insert a new row (the row has 3
columns).
The first column is a customer id which we enter (value
1003), the second column is a region id which we also enter
(value is EU).
According to these two vales, we want to do a
serverroundtrip. This serverroundtrip should not be
activated thorugh a button. The serverroundtrip should be
activated when the user leaves the field (in good old PB
'item changed' event).

This serverroundtrip should set a default value from the
database into the third column.

We can't find the server event to do this. What we found is
the client side java scipt.

Has anybody faced the same problem - are there any
solutions?

Thanks for any help
Markus

If you're having a problem with the beta version, post that in the
beta forum. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are
instructions for accessing that group on the beta page <sigh>. I'll
let the folks in charge know.

Bruce,
ok, do that as soon as possible. The newsgroup has to be
available on the web and not only with newsreaders as we do
not have permission to use a newsreader!

Is there any possbility to address questions regarding the
beta in the meantime?

Thanks
Markus

All of the newsgroups are also available through the pfcguide.com newsreader.
You'll need login information for the private beta newsgroup, though, which they
(i.e., Sybase) needs to include on the beta page. I've passed the information
along, it's just a matter of when they address it.

As the promised beta newsgroup is not available, I ask you
to answert my 'beta' question in this forum.
We are evaluating different products right now. The
Datawindow.NET looks quite good but we have to know what's
possible and wha'ts not. So if you can't help us - we would
have to remove it from our evaluation list eventhough that's
the last we want.
Best regards
Markus
