How do I determine the LAN_PORT number of the Advantage server?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

If you can connect through Advantage Data Architect, then use the management
utility and click the Configuration Parameters tab and then the "Not Affect
Memory" tab. It will show the ports (LAN and Internet) that it is using.

netstat.exe can also provide this information. For example, "netstat -a"
will show all ports in use, but I don't think it shows which application is
using the port. There might be a way of extracting that information; I
don't recall at the moment. You could run "netstat -a" before and after
starting Advantage Database Server to see which ports are newly in use.

However if this is for the purposes of specifying a port for a firewall,
then you should probably specify the desired port number in the Advantage
configuration so that it does not change if the server is restarted.
