I've got a common feel in my app where I higlight the row selected.
Unfortunately I have a datawindow that also has buttons on the row. When
its selected, the text is illegible. Any ideas on how to get around this?
Please see attachment.

thx

What about putting the following expression on the background color of
the button object:

if (isselected(),134217741,134217750)

This will make the button on a selected row take a background color of
the system 'highlight' color, and system 'button light' color
otherwise. It has the effect of making the button look selected as
well, whereas what you have now does not and the button looks like
it's on a different plane. I might make an argument that this should
happen automatically, but the remedy seems straightforward enough.

Didn't work. I played some more but it doesn't look like any of the color
expressions make a difference with what I'm assuming is the WinXP themes.
As the row is selected, all the objects text changes to highlight text,
columns, buttons etc. It works identically in the designer preview as it
does in an application - with the exception the preview doesn't always
re-draw certain expression changes until you save/close/re-open.

The checkbox green mark didn't change but my guess is that that isn't
considered text and is more like a graphic or something.

I guess I will just go with the rowfocus indicator of a rectangle and not do
a rowSelect call.

ah, XP themes... so I take it the background color of the button
didn't change at all then? this technique worked for me, but I was
trying Win XP. Let me see what engineering thinks about this.

Can you go ahead and create a case on this. Engineering thinks we
should be able to accomodate this. In the case description just write
'dispatch to Jim O'Neil' and I'll pick it so you don't end up going
through the same sequence of attempts with another support guy here.

Also post or e-mail me the case number.
